The Tax Credit Finance practice group is a nationally recognized leader in representing owners and developers of real estate through the use of development incentives such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits, Renewable Energy Tax Credits and New Markets Tax Credits. Additionally, the group has extensive experience in dealing with federal, state and local development finance incentives such as tax-exempt bonds, tax increment financing, CDBG and HOME financing, HUD insured loans and HOPE VI.
Our tax credit finance attorneys have closed transactions in most states throughout the country. Almost every transaction for which the practice group is engaged involves multiple layers of debt and equity financing, a variety of “soft” debt, and so-called “sandwich lease” structures. The collective experience of our tax credit finance attorneys makes our firm well qualified to handle the unique tax and structuring issues that are a necessary part of these transactions.
We represent several national developers of affordable housing and in such capacity have gained valuable experience with state housing credit finance agencies throughout the country. We have practiced before the Missouri Housing Development Commission since its inception and have handled virtually every form of affordable housing transaction. We have also been fortunate to serve as developer’s counsel on numerous major urban revitalization projects throughout the country.
